Accessibility statement
Our commitment to making Maxwell Books usable by everyone, and how to tell us when it isn't.
Last updated Oct 26, 2026
Our goal
We want everyone to be able to keep their books with Maxwell Books, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, zoom or high-contrast settings. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we've done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline showing where you are, and a "Skip to content" link.
- Text and buttons meet WCAG's colour contrast levels, checked automatically.
- Forms have labels, say clearly what went wrong, and announce errors to screen readers.
- Images that carry meaning have text descriptions; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Pages work on small phone screens and when zoomed in, with no sideways scrolling.
- Whenever we change the site, every page is checked automatically for common accessibility problems, in a real browser. Automatic checks can't catch everything, so please tell us about anything they miss.
Known limitations
Statements and receipts you upload are shown as they came from your bank or store, so they may not be accessible. The transactions we read from them are shown as accessible text.
Some reports have wide tables that are easier to use on a larger screen.
