Bookkeeping for Alberta small businesses

Your bank statements, sorted into proper books.

Upload your statements and receipts. Maxwell Books suggests a category and the GST for every line. You confirm each one, and it goes into a double-entry ledger with the reports you and your accountant need.

What Maxwell Books does

Reads your statements and receipts, suggests a category for each line, matches receipts to purchases, and works out the GST.

What you do

Check the suggestions, answer the few questions only you can (like who an e-Transfer went to), and get on with your work.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload

Bank and credit card statements as CSV or PDF, and photos or PDFs of your receipts. Each statement is checked to make sure it adds up.

  2. 2

    Confirm

Each transaction comes with a suggested category and GST. Nothing goes into your books until you confirm it, and what you correct is remembered.

  3. 3

    See where you stand

An income statement, balance sheet and GST summary, from a double-entry ledger your accountant can read and download.
